Patient Thanks Ada County (Idaho) Paramedics Who Saved His Life

BOISE, Idaho – On a chilly November night, Ada County Paramedics responded to a 9-1-1 call after a vehicle struck Robert Savage on his motorcycle, propelling him 35 feet down a hill and into a fence. Ada County Paramedics arrived on scene to find Savage with a broken leg, having a grand mal seizure. After a lengthy physical and emotional healing process, Savage is finally at a place where he can tell his story—and he wants to thank the paramedics who saved his life that night. “I am very excited to meet them,” Savage said. “There are a lot of gaps in my mind that I hope they can fill for me.” Savage said he’s undergone months of physical therapy and hopes meeting his rescuers will help put the ordeal behind him entirely. “I am really looking forward to meeting those paramedics who helped me fight for my life that night,” Savage said. “I spent a total of 6 weeks in hospitals including Saint Al’s, Harbor View in Seattle and St. Luke’s Rehab of Boise. I was Life Flighted to Seattle in hopes of saving my leg but there was too much damage and it had to be amputated below the knee.
