Italian multicenter study on accuracy of 18F-FDG PET/CT in assessing bone marrow involvement in pediatric Hodgkin ’s Lymphoma

Conclusions 18F-FDG PET/CT shows high diagnostic performance in the evaluation of BMI in pediatric HL. BMB should be ideally reserved for patients with 18F-FDG PET/CT presenting doubtful bone marrow findings. Teaser This study investigated the utility of F-18-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in assessing bone marrow involvement (BMI) compared to bone marrow biopsy (BMB) in newly diagnosed pediatric Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL). 18F-FDG PET/CT shows high diagnostic performance in evaluating BMI in pediatric HL. BMB should be ideally reserved for patients with 18F-FDG PET/CT presenting doubtful bone marrow findings.
