Medical Center Makes Preparedness Along with Patient and Employee Safety a Priority

Federal Emergency Management Agency [Department of Homeland Security]. 04/09/2018 This two-page Mitigation Best Practices report discusses Mount Sinai Medical Center in Florida and its grant for more than $22 million from FEMA to fund projects to enhance its resiliency to hurricane winds. Its unique location puts the medical center in an area prone to flooding and hurricane damage. The scope of work included wind retrofits on seven buildings. Following Hurricane Irma in 2017, the Medical Center reported no major or significant damage to its facilities and infrastructure. (PDF)
