Phenolic compounds from the leaves of Phegopteris decursivepinnata (H.C. Hall) F ée

Publication date: June 2018 Source:Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, Volume 78 Author(s): Masato Watanabe, Takashi Watanabe, Hari Prasad Devkota Five flavonoid derivatives and one phenylpropanoid derivative were isolated from the 70% MeOH extract of the leaves of Phegopteris decursivepinnata (Family: Thelypteridaceae). The structures of these compounds were elucidated as kaempferol (1), kaempferol 3-O-β-glucopyranoside (2), kaempferol 3-O-neohesperidoside (3), genkwanin (4), genkwanin 4′-O-β-glucopyranoside (5) and caffeic acid methyl ester (6) on the basis of NMR spectral data and comparison with literature values. All these compounds were isolated for the first time from P. decursivepinnata and kaempferol 3-O-neohesperidoside (3), genkwanin (4) and caffeic acid methyl ester (6) are reported for the first time from family Thelypteridaceae.
