Threatened Miscarriage and Depressive and Anxiety Symptoms among Women and Partners in Early Pregnancy

Perinatal psychiatric illnesses are increasingly recognized as a public health concern. Over the past two decades, multiple aspects of postnatal depression have been studied, including its risk factors, screening, treatment, and impact on mother, child, and family dynamics (Robertson et  al., 2004, Bruno et al., 2017, Murray and Cooper, 1997, Anding et al., 2016). As a result, intervention initiatives have been widely implemented in developed countries (World Maternal Mental Health Day 2017). In Singapore, one such intervention program has shown promising results in objective m easures of maternal emotional wellness, adequacy of referral and treatment, as well as acceptability and patient satisfaction (Lee et al., 2016).
