Globus launches Elsa lateral spacers

Globus Medical (NYSE:GMED) said this week it launched the Elsa AL and Elsa-ATP lateral expanded interbody spacers with integrated screw fixation. The newly launched devices are next-gen expandable implants designed to provide an optimal fit for patients to restore sagittal balance and enhance structural fixation, the Audobon, Penn.-based company said. “Elsa AL is the alternative to Rise-L for selected cases in which maximizing segmental lordosis is indicated. In conjunction with the ALL release technique, Elsa AL has the potential to provide the most amount of segmental lordosis of any device on the market,” Dr. Paul Kim of the Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates said in a press release. Globus Medical said the Elsa AL’s in situ adjustability and integrated screw fixation are intended to help correct sagittal balance and improve stability, and added that it features adjustable lordotic technology to allow 30 degrees of lordosis with a minimally invasive surgical corridor.
