Additionally, distinguishing lymphadenopathy of sarcoidosis from sarcoid reactions which are sometimes caused by lung cancer is difficult on imaging and pathologi...

We present a case of ovarian clear-cell carcinoma that was initially diagnosed as adenocarcinoma of lung origin. This is an instructive diagnostic pitfall for clinicians and pathologists because of the unusual clinical course, small biopsy material, and noteworthy immunophenotype of the carcinoma. Imaging analysis identified only lung and liver lesions. In addition, the biopsy specimen from the lung was TTF-1 negative and napsin A positive, which is still possible for cancer of lung origin. Postmortem examination found that the cancer should be classified as ovarian clear-cell carcinoma distinguished by positive staining f...

Conclusion: Development of the real-time PCR system enabled us to demonstrate that many patients with UCC might be influenced byB. adusta, a fact evidenced by the improvement of symptoms with itraconazole administration in most PCR-positive patients. This method would help in detecting itraconazole responders among patients with UCC when the isolation of f-BMs is not achievable.Respiration

Conclusion These results suggest that rTMS, particularly ipsilesional stimulation, significantly improves walking speed. Future studies with larger sample sizes and an adequate follow-up period are required to further understand the effects of rTMS on lower limb function and its relationship with changes in cortical excitability with the help of functional neuroimaging techniques. Conclusions Clinicians should consider patient age and history of stroke, peripheral vascular disease, or anxiety/panic disorders when optimizing a lower limb prosthesis users' mobility because these variables may be predictive of modest but clinically meaningful decreased prosthetic mobility. By contrast, common comorbid health conditions such as arthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, and diabetes do not seem predictive of decreased mobility among lower limb prosthesis users.

Objective The aim of the study was to examine whether a diagnosis of prefracture dementia (PFD) affects functional outcome at discharge from a geriatric rehabilitation setting. Design A total of 211 consecutive elderly hip fracture patients were evaluated retrospectively. We used the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and analyzed data by t test, χ2 test, and multiple linear regression analysis. Results Patients with PFD were older (P = 0.001), presented with lower Mini-Mental State Examination scores (P

Conclusions Physiotherapy interventions can be a safe and beneficial option for spasticity in people with multiple sclerosis. No firm conclusion can be drawn on overall spasticity. Further researches in different spasticity aspects are needed.

Conclusions Somatosensory stimulation can improve objective outcomes of motor training for moderate-to-severe hemiparesis less than 12 mos after stroke, although it needs to be determined whether the magnitude of between-groups differences in this study is clinically relevant. Future studies should investigate the intervention's impact on disability and functional recovery for this population as well as neurophysiological mechanisms underlying intervention effects.

Objective The aim of the study was to describe (1) the amount of physical activity (PA) in cardiac rehabilitation (CR) graduates by sex, and (2) the correlates of their PA. Design Secondary analysis of baseline data from a randomized trial was undertaken. Graduates were recruited from three CR programs. Participants completed a questionnaire, which assessed constructs from the socio-ecological model (i.e., individual-level, social- and physical-environmental levels). Physical activity was measured objectively using an ActiGraph GT3X accelerometer. Multilevel modeling was performed. Results Two hundred fifty-five pa...
