RefleXion Medical raises $97m

San Francisco-based medtech group RefleXion Medical has raised $96.5 million in a new round of equity financing, according to a recently posted SEC filing. Money in the round comes from 18 unnamed investors, with the first sale noted on March 16 this year, according to the filing. RefleXion Medical is developing a biology-guided radiotherapy system for cancer treatment, which is designed to use positron emission tomography to locate and identify tumors during treatments. The company is seeking an additional $6.1 million before it closes the round, according to the SEC filing, and has not yet said how it plans to spend funds raised in the round. Last May, RefleXion Medical said it hired Todd Powell, former Elekta (STO:EKTA B) exec, as its new prez & CEO. The post RefleXion Medical raises $97m appeared first on MassDevice.
