V12-12 office based magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound fusion guided focal cryotherapy of prostate cancer
The emergence of MRI-Ultrasound (MR/US) fusion biopsies has led to greater accuracy in targeting the prostate. Cryoablation for prostate cancer is well-established for partial or whole gland prostate ablation. NCT02381990 is a protocol aimed to evaluate outcomes of MR/US fusion targeted prostate cryoablation. While prostate cryoablation has been typically performed under general anesthesia, we patented a local anesthesia approach that enables cryoablation in an office setting (U.S. Provisional Patent 62/476,751).
