From Die Traumdeutung to The Squiggle Game: A Brief History of an Evolution.

From Die Traumdeutung to The Squiggle Game: A Brief History of an Evolution. Am J Psychoanal. 2018 Mar 28;: Authors: Stefana A Abstract It is often possible to retrace the history of a new concept or a new technique, identifying precursor and reflections that would lay the foundations for the birth of something "new". This also applies to the "squiggle game" of Donald W. Winnicott, one of the Winnicottian "creations" in which the distinctive signs of its fatherhood are more evident as, at the same time, are evident several debts to other scientists: from Freud's interpretation of dreams, through Jung, Klein and Fordham to Milner's "free drawings". Authors: Knupfer J, Reich-Schupke S, Stücker M Abstract Both varicosis and postthrombotic syndrome are manifestations of chronic venous disease - a widespread disease. Even at an early stage there are visible vascular symptoms, feeling of heaviness and tendency to swelling. In advanced stages, skin alterations and chronic wounds follow. Chronic venous insufficiency as a progressive disease can lead to significant limitations in the quality of life. Adequate diagnosis and therapy is therefore essential. A causal therapy that removes varices or occluding processes should be targeted whenever possi...

We describe innovative multipurpose implementation of PROMs as evidenced by two best practices of PROMs application in geriatric and physiotherapy practice. We show that PROMs can show meaningful outcomes in older subjects ’ patient journeys, which can at the same time serve individuals and groups of both patients and professionals.Key lesson: PROMs can deliver generic outcomes relevant for older patients, may improve patient-physician relationship, quality of care and prediction of future outcomes in geriatric care, if they are valid, reliable and responsive, but still short and simple. A precondition to make the ha...

Objective: To assess the effect of the medical consortium policy on the outcomes of cancer patients admitted to secondary hospitals in Shanxi, China.Method: Electronic medical records of lung cancer (n = 8,193), stomach cancer (n = 5,693) and esophagus cancer (n = 2,802) patients hospitalized in secondary hospitals were used. Propensity score matching was used to match each patient enrolled in medical consortium hospitals with a counterpart admitted in nonmedical consortium hospitals. Cox proportional hazard models were used to estimate the hazard ratio of patients enrolled different categories of hospitals. Results: The ha...

We report an extensive overlap betweenFoxP2 expression and vocal, auditory, and steroid-signaling systems with robust expression at multiple sites in the telencephalon, the preoptic area, the diencephalon, and the midbrain. Label was far more restricted in the hindbrain though robust in one region of the reticular formation. A comparison with other teleosts and tetrapods suggests an evolutionarily conserved FoxP2 phenotype important to vocal-acoustic and, more broadly, sensorimotor function among vertebrates.Brain Behav Evol
