Reply to “Comments on ‘Dietary patterns and the risk of coronary heart disease among Jordanians: A case-control study. Statistical and methodological issues’”

We thank Abdollahpour and Salimi [1] for their comments and questions on our paper [2]. We do agree with Dr Salimi that not adjusting for age and gender while estimating odd ratios (ORs) may lead to biased results. In fact, we first estimated the ORs with the adjustment for age and gender but during the reviewing process, one of the reviewer suggested that as already age and gender have been matched, there is no need adjust for age and gender. Therefore, we re-estimated the ORs without using the age and gender as confounding factors.
