Kitzhaber agrees to settle ethics charges for $20K: reports

Former Gov. John Kitzhaber, who resigned in 2015 in the middle of an influence-peddling scandal, agreed to settle his ethics case for $20,000, the Portland Tribune reported. The Oregon Ethics Commission had voted in February to pursue 10 alleged violations of state ethics law by the former governor. It had rejected a $1,000 settlement Kitzhaber had reached with staff in November.
