It looks in greater depth at the effects of factors such as conflict, climate change, and natural disasters. It discusses how climate disasters, mainly drought, were major triggers of food crises in 23 countries, and how conflict and disasters can aggravate pre-existing food security and malnutrition vulnerabilities, exacerbating poverty and reinforcing gender inequalities and discrimination.
