Dimensional changes in the palate associated with slow maxillary expansion for early treatment of posterior crossbite.

CONCLUSIONS: The Haas-type expander results in similar expansion across the canines and first molars. A palate that is symmetrical before expansion may become asymmetric after expansion but only in the middle segment.
