Globe Observer: Mosquito Habitat Mapper App

National Aeronautics and Space Administration. 08/14/2017 This app asks users to identify potential breeding sites for mosquitoes, sample and count mosquito larvae, and with optional equipment, examine and photograph a specimen to identify its genus. Observations are contributing to a global database that will be used by scientists to verify predictive models of mosquito population dynamics based on satellite data. The app allows users to contribute to Zika research as citizen scientists by collecting data on mosquito breeding sites. (Video or Multimedia)
