DOJ launches investigation of shuttered FamilyCare, demands documents

The Oregon Department of Justice is investigating four entities related to FamilyCare Health, the coordinated care organization that shuttered in January, to determine whether they violated laws governing nonprofits and charities. DOJ on March 7 sent an order, first reported by The Portland Tribune, to produce documents to the following: FamilyCare Inc., FamilyCare Health Plans Inc., FamilyCare Community Health Alliance and the Heatherington Foundation for Innovation and Education in Health Care.…
