Regarding “Incidence and risk factors of groin lymphocele formation after venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in cardiogenic shock patients”

Salna et  al1 described 192 patients who underwent venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, 31 (16%) of whom developed cannulation-associated lymphocele formation. Of those with lymphoceles, 13 (42%) required surgical incision and drainage; 4 (31%) patients required repeated surgical intervention. Salna et al highlighted the prevalence of lymphoceles, which have been associated with abdominal and pelvic dissection, radical prostatectomy, kidney transplantation, lumbar fusion, resection of gynecologic malignant neoplasms, and heart transplantation.
