ConclusionsThe Caregiver Support Team was positively received. The organization received budgetary support from our hospital to disseminate the program system-wide. Additional interventions are needed to overcome the root cause of workplace stressors. A formal link between Risk Management is being developed to identify cases which warrant emotional (vs. clinical only or both) debriefing/group processing.Graphical Abstract

Authors: Wu KK, Armstrong AW Abstract Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with under-investigated and underappreciated links to psychiatric comorbidities, including anxiety, depression, and suicidality. In this review, we synthesize and discuss the literature investigating the association between psoriasis and three measures of suicidality: suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, and completed suicide. Studies have shown that psoriasis is significantly linked to all three measures of suicidality, but the available data on suicide attempts and completed suicides is limited and less consistent. Studied risk...

In this study, epigenome-wide patterns of methylation were measured in schizophrenia suicide attempters (n = 54) and in schizophrenia non suicide attempters (n = 69) using DNA extracted from white blood cells. Analyses focused on identifying differentially methylated CpG sites and gene regions between attempters and non-attempters. We identified the CpG site cg19647197 within the CCDC53 gene, which is characterized by hypomethylation of WBC in schizophrenia attempters compared to non-attempters. Our results suggest that there is variation in DNA methylation associated with suicide attempt that may offer novel highl...
