Cardiovascular Risk Markers and Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events in Psoriatic Arthritis Patients.

CONCLUSION: Psoriatic arthritis appeared significantly associated with subclinical atherosclerosis and endothelial dysfunction and, in turn, with an increased cardiovascular risk. Thus, patients with psoriatic arthritis may benefit from a periodic assessment of surrogate markers of cardiovascular risk. This could help to establish more specific cardiovascular prevention strategies for these patients. PMID: 29542417 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Authors: Hwang S, Ren T, Gao B Abstract Obesity and binge drinking often coexist and work synergistically to promote steatohepatitis; however, the underlying mechanisms remain obscure. In this mini-review, we briefly summarize clinical evidence of the synergistical effect of obesity and heavy drinking on steatohepatitis and discuss the underlying mechanisms obtained from the study of several mouse models. High-fat diet (HFD) feeding and binge ethanol synergistically induced steatohepatitis and fibrosis in mice with significant intrahepatic neutrophil infiltration; such HFD-plus-ethanol treatment markedly up-regulat...

CONCLUSION: Our study expands the mutation spectrum of WSF1 mutations with three novel mutations. Homozygosity mapping may provide enrichment for molecular genetic analysis and early diagnosis of WS1 patients with incomplete phenotype, particularly in consanguineous pedigrees. CONCLUSION: We determined etiologies in 86.3% of children with non-CAH PAI through specific clinical and laboratory findings with/without molecular analysis of candidate genes. ALD was the most common etiology. Nowadays, advanced molecular analyse can be utilized to establish a specific genetic diagnosis of PAI for patients who have no specific diagnostic features. Conclusion Snoring was shown to be a frequent pathophysiology in active workers. It was a health indicator for active workers, and especially in men, intervention for snoring may reduce the risk of developing lifestyle-related diseases. PMID: 32938849 [PubMed - in process]
