ConclusionsSeveral shared and unique barriers and facilitators to using the stratified care approaches for non-specific LBP among Canadian physiotherapists and chiropractors were identified. Findings may help inform the design of tailored theory-based knowledge translation interventions to increase the uptake of stratified care approaches in clinical practice.

AliveCor is close to our hearts. Literally. David Albert, the co-founder of the company, started experimenting with handheld, wireless ECG devices in the late 90s. Approximately 10 years later we tried out their FDA-cleared, medical grade gadget. It was a truly inspiring moment. Needless to say, we’ve been keeping track of their journey ever since. In our eyes Kardia is the textbook example of technology shaping health care, empowering and supporting not only e-patients, but medical professionals as well. So, let’s take a look at their newest creation, the KardiaMobile6L! Why did the chicken cross the ro...

Conclusion Spaceflight and exploration of the galaxy’s expanses are a risk-inherent, but worthy endeavor. Back on terra firma, state-of-the-art medical devices offer life-changing and often life-saving applications to patients. In order for today’s device makers to survive in a competitive and challenging marketplace, every production advantage must be pursued. On the cusp of 2020, companies simply can’t afford to retain legacy DHR data systems when superior, more efficient tools are right at their fingertips. Thankfully, it doesn’t take a moonshot eff...

ConclusionPolicymakers may unintentionally rely on flawed assumptions and methodologies such as static scoring, which we propose results in flawed conclusions. Legislative options involve some additional cost. The issue is whether proposed legislative options offer more effective outcomes along with more efficient cost. Using a dynamic scoring model to incorporate savings from 3 primary sources, we found that (1) chiropractic care provides better outcomes at lower cost, (2) chiropractic treatment and care leads to a reduction in cost of spinal surgery, and (3) chiropractic care leads to cost savings from reduced use and ab...

ConclusionsResults describe how diverse environmental, patient, and provider factors contribute to unneeded LS-MRI for acute, uncomplicated low-back pain. Prior research using a single intervention to reduce unneeded LS-MRI has been ineffective. Results suggest that multifaceted de-implementation strategies may be required to reduce unneeded LS-MRI.
