BJC warns patients of potential data storage breach

BJC HealthCare has notified more than 33,000 patients that their personal data may have been compromised in a possible breach. The health care system said that a data server error made it possible for stored images of documents such as driver's licenses, insurance cards and treatment information to be accessed online without appropriate security controls from May 9, 2017 to Jan. 23.
