Homeopathic Dilutions, Hahnemann Principles, and the Solvent Issue: Must We Address Ethanol as a "Homeopathic" or a "Chemical" Issue?

CONCLUSION:  Any author working with homeopathic dilutions containing a molar fraction of ethanol higher than 20% should take into account the fact that ethanol is cytotoxic and may be a catalyst to the formation of nanobubbles, and so should adjust the experimental approach accordingly. Naturopathy and naturopaths are a fairly frequent topic on this blog —and for very good reason. If there is an example of a pseudomedical " discipline " that has been gaining undeserved " respectability, " it's naturopathy. It's licensed in all too many states, and physicians who have fallen under the spell of so-called " integrative medicine, " a specialty that rebrands science-based lifestyle medical interventions as somehow " alternative " or " integrative " and uses them as a vessel to " integrate " quackery into medicine, seem to have a special affinity...

And it’s not just prescription medications, but over-the-counter products as well. “While laws differ from state to state, you can be charged with a DUI if caught driving hazardously while taking prescription or OTC meds, even if your doctor wrote you that prescription,” adds C. Michael White, Pharm.D., FCP, FCCP, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacy Pr...

Ever since I started an online community for treatment-resistant depression — depression and anxiety that don’t respond to psychotropic medications — I’ve been inundated with mail from desperate people who have tried 30 to 40 different kinds of antidepressants, and feel no relief. I repeatedly hear from family members of folks who have tried everything, and are not getting better. I sense the utter frustration and despair in their words, and it pains me. I, too, felt hopeless after trying countless medication combinations and sitting through years of psychotherapy sessions, only to continue my ...
