Effets d ’un programme d’exercices physiques structurés sur les facteurs de risque cardiovasculaire liés au syndrome métabolique chez les travailleurs obèses de Kinshasa en République démocratique du Congo

Conclusion Le programme d’exercices physiques structurés combinés à une éducation nutritionnelle (hypocalorique, riche en fibres et vitamines) et associés aux exercices physiques spontanés, diminue significativement le poids de l’ordre de −22,8kg et améliore les facteurs de risque cardiovasculaire liés au syndrome métabolique. Il peut être considéré comme une stratégie non pharmacologique efficace pour le traitement du risque généré par l’obésité. Objective To investigate the effect of a structured exercise program combined with nutrition education on cardiovascular risk factors for Metabolic Syndrome in obese workers. Methods In a 6-month follow-up study, between January and June 2014, 157 obese including 76 men (48.4%) and 81 women (51.6%), with a mean age of 44±8.6 years old, from a company in the city of Kinshasa province, were subjected to a structured exercise program of 3 days per week, for one hour per day, moderate to high intensity including: jogging, aerobic gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, swimming, abdominals and walking 10,000 steps in three working days and two days of weekend recorded using a pedometer. This program has been combined with nutrition education (low calorie, high in fiber and vitamins) and has been associated with spontaneous physical exercise.
