CONCLUSIONS: The anatomic stemless press-fit implant seems to be favorable in terms of implant-related stress shielding. Clinical outcome was not affected by radiographic changes, demonstrating an 8-year clinical performance that seems to be comparable to conventional stemmed TSA. Conclusion: This case report highlights two key points. Luckenschadel should be kept in mind when Chiari II malformation is diagnosed. Autopsy with radiographic assessment is very useful in revealing this congenital defect which may escape prenatal detection. PMID: 32096430 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Background: Inpatient stroke-codes (ISC) have traditionally seen low treatment rates with IV-thrombolytic (IVT). The purpose of this study was to identify the predictors of true stroke, prevalent IVT-treatment gap and study the factors associated with such missed treatment opportunities (MTO).Methods: A retrospective chart review identified ISC from March 2017 to March 2018. Clinical, radiographic and demographic data were collected. Primary analysis was performed between stroke vs. non-stroke diagnoses. Dichotomous variables were analyzed using Chi-Square test of proportions and continuous variables with Wilcoxon-Ranked-S...

In this study, we acquired computed tomography scans of three Standardbred trotting colts longitudinally between 2 and 12 months of age. Finite-element models were constructed of the left forelimb proximal phalanx and used to assess strain energy density during quiet standing. Growth related changes in mineral density and bone area fraction in the distal epiphysis, mid-diaphysis, and proximal epiphysis were evaluated. Mineral density and bone area fraction uniformly increased in the diaphysis and strain energy density was constant during growth, indicating adaptation to quiet standing. Bone mineral density and bone area fr...

Authors: Sibanda D, Singleton R, Clark J, Desnoyers C, Hodges E, Day G, Redding G Abstract Recent literature has highlighted the importance of transition from paediatric to adult care for children with chronic conditions. Non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis is an important cause of respiratory morbidity in low-income countries and in indigenous children from affluent countries; however, there is little information about adult outcomes of childhood bronchiectasis. We reviewed the clinical course of 31 Alaska Native adults 20-40 years of age from Alaska's Yukon Kuskokwim Delta with childhood bronchiectasis. In pa...

Conclusions: TBL can be an effective instructional approach to improve students' understanding of radiologic technology content. The results of this research can help instructors decide what action plan to implement to increase the effectiveness of TBL when further employing it for radiologic technology courses. Authors: Conti MS, Ellis SJ Abstract Weight-bearing CT (WBCT) scans of the foot and ankle have improved the understanding of deformities that are not easily identified on radiographs and are increasingly being used by orthopaedic surgeons for diagnostic and preoperative planning purposes. In contrast to standard CT scans, WBCT scans better demonstrate the true orientation of the bones and joints during loading. They have been especially useful in investigating the alignment of complex pathologies such as adult-acquired flatfoot deformity in which patients have been found to have a more valgus subtalar joint alignme...
