The National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region (NNLM MAR), a federally funded health outreach program, invites applications for projects beginning May 15, 2018 and ending April 30, 2019. Organizations in Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania are eligible to apply. The goal of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) is to advance the progress of medicine, improve public health by providing U.S. health professionals with equal access to biomedical information, and improve individuals’ access to information to enable them to make informed decisions about their health. The NNLM is vital in the National Library of Medicine (NLM) outreach efforts to health professionals and the public to increase awareness of, facilitate access to, and provide training in the use of NLM’s web-based information resources. Awards are available for projects that: Enhance clinicians’ and public health workers’ abilities to find and use biomedical and health information in practice and for patient education; Increase the ability for patients, family members, students and members of the general public to find and use health information; Promote a culture of health literacy within an organization; or Support health sciences librarians as conduits of information management, access, and delivery.
