Pulmonary vein activity does not predict outcome of catheter ablation for persistent atrial fibrillation – A long term multi-centre prospective study
Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) remains the cornerstone of catheter ablation (CA) in persistent AF (PeAF) although less successful than for PAF. Whether rapid or fibrillatory (PVAF) PV firing may identify PeAF patients more likely to benefit from a PV based approach, is unclear.
