Abstract Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor with an unapproved use for ovulation induction with infertility. Because of the proximity of this use to conception, we selected letrozole to explore the effect of imperfect estimation in the pregnancy start on misclassification in measurement of first-trimester exposure. The pregnancy start was calculated using 1) a validated algorithm to estimate the last menstrual period (LMP), 2...

The objective of the present study was to assess toxic and nutritional trace element and mineral status in hair of women with IVF pregnancy and their children. Inductively-coupled plasma mass-spectrometry was used to assess hair trace element levels of 50 women with IVF pregnancy and 158 controls with spontaneous pregnancy and their children. Women with IVF pregnancy were characterized by significantly elevated hair As, Hg, Li, K, Na, and reduced Fe, Si, and Zn contents. Children from IVF pregnancy had significantly lower values of hair Cr, Fe, Mg, Sr, and Al content when compared to the control values, whereas hair Hg and...

ConclusionHysteroscopic surgery using cold graspers combined with electric loop by the HEOS is feasible and effective for treatment of DUL as it preserves the uterus and yields favorable reproductive outcomes. The cold surgery and fenestration method minimize electrical and thermal damage to the endometrium surrounding the myoma, consequently reducing surgical risks.
