We report a case of a 36-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes mellitus and a one-year of primary infertility. Following oral ovulation induction cycles and IUI, diagnosis of heterotopic cervical pregnancy was made by ultrasonography at 7.4 weeks of gestation. Laser ablation of the cervical pregnancy was performed achieving adequate homeostasis at the implantation site and preserving the intrauterine pregnancy. A healthy infant was delivered at 36 0/7 wks by cesarean-section.Laser ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that appears to lead to successful outcomes in treatment of heterotopic cervical pregnancy.

However, HbA1c is not recommended in several situations such as hemoglobinopathies, pregnancy or chronic kidney disease. The quantification of serum glycated albumin (GA) can serve as an alternative in these situations. In fact, serum albumin may undergo structural changes by glycation which impacts on its function and plays a major role in the genesis of diabetes mellitus complications. GA can be measured accurately either on...

This study aimed to examine the associations between the duration of folic acid (FA) supplementation, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and adverse birth outcomes. A total of 950 mother-offspring pairs participated in the cohort study during 2015 in Changsha, China. The data were collected through home visits and perfected by maternal and child healthcare handbooks. Generalized linear models and stratified analyses were used for statistical analyses. The incidence of GDM in our cohort was 10.2%. FA supplementation for ≥3 months before pregnancy was associated with an increased risk of GDM (adjusted relative risk ...

V. Marley Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is the most common antenatal complication in Australia. All pregnant women are recommended for screening by 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). As part of a study to improve screening, 694 women from 27 regional, rural and remote clinics were recruited from 2015–2018 into the Optimisation of Rural Clinical and Haematological Indicators for Diabetes in pregnancy (ORCHID) study. Most routine OGTT samples were analysed more than four hours post fasting collection (median 5.0 h, range 2.3 to 124 h), potentially reducing glucose levels due to glycolysis. In 2019, ...

AbstractAdverse pregnancy outcomes increase infants ’ risk for mortality and future health problems. Neighborhood physical disorder may contribute to adverse pregnancy outcomes by increasing maternal chronic stress. Google Street View technology presents a novel method for assessing neighborhood physical disorder but has not been previously examine d in the context of birth outcomes. In this cross-sectional study, trained raters used Google’s Street View imagery to virtually audit a randomly sampled block within each Chicago census tract (n = 809) for nine indicators of physical disorder. We used an item-respon...
