With the growth in the aging population, poor dentition and the incidence of dental implants is on the rise. Dental implants have a high association with peri-mucositis and peri-implantitis, which is a source of discomfort in patients and can be a source of agitation and cause of behavioral disturbance in patients with dementia who cannot verbalize their discomfort.
