Use of the Spanish Version of the Frail-NH Scale to Predict Adverse Outomes in a Nursing Home in Mexico City

Few studies assert the prevalence of Frailty in Latin America and Mexico . Most of these studies are from data of community dwelling elders. To our knowledge, there is no study showing the prevalence or outcomes of frailty among the nursing home residents in Mexico. Frailty has proven to predict falls, worsening of ADL function, hospitalization and death in nursing homes . The timely identification of frailty in nursing homes is necessary to enhance measures in care plan and reevaluate goals of care.
