Chemically C-B bonded C60/CoB composite and its enhanced electrochemical hydrogen storage property

Publication date: Available online 17 February 2018 Source:Journal of Organometallic Chemistry Author(s): Linna Sha, Peng Gao, Xiaobo Li, Xuefeng Bai In this work, amorphous CoB has been uniformly coated on C60 surfaces through a simple ball milling process. Accordingly their XRD, SEM and TEM measurements clarify their related composite structures. Especially, a C-B chemical bond has been found through its XPS measurement, which enhanced the composite's stability and electrochemical activity. And the following electrochemical experimental results demonstrated that the as-obtained C60/CoB composite had considerably high storage capacities of 602 mA h/g, which were much higher than those of individual C60 and CoB. Furthermore their hydrogen storage processes and the mechanism have also been investigated. Graphical abstract
