The experience of pain and anxiety during daily urological procedures such as cystoscopy, nephrostomy tube replacement, transrectal ultrasonography guided prostate biopsy, extracorporeal SWL and urodynamic study is a major subject to consider. This noteworthy issue makes these procedures more difficult for the patient and the physician. Moreover, pain and anxiety cause patient refusal to attend the necessary recurrent sessions, including procedures such as extracorporeal SWL, bladder cancer followup cystoscopy and neurogenic bladder followup urodynamic study.
