United Medical Center's former chief medical officer sues hospital, claims retaliation

The former chief medical officer of District-owned United Medical Center sued the hospital Thursday, alleging he lost his job in retaliation for testifying last fall about problems at the hospital. The suit by Dr. Julian Craig in U.S. District Court for D.C. also named the hospital's operator, Veritas of Washington LLC, as well as its top adviser Corbett Price, and Veritas employee and UMC CEO Luis Hernandez.
