Study: Kansas health care sector generates $25B in sales

Hospitals and health care systems are a key contributor to the Kansas economy.   The state’s health care sector generated $25.7 billion in sales in 2017 and more than $14 billion in income, a new study from the Kansas Hospital Association finds. Hospitals employ 86,324 people statewide, according to the study. That’s more than 4 percent of all job holders in Kansas.
