Engineering Gold Nanorod –Copper Sulfide Heterostructures with Enhanced Photothermal Conversion Efficiency and Photostability

This study will provide new insight into the design of other noble metal–semiconductor heterostructures for a broad range of applications utilizing surface plasmon resonance enhancement phenomena. Core–shell and dumbbell‐like Au NRs–Cu7S4 heterostructures are synthesized via a one‐pot hydrothermal strategy. Both components not only synergistically enhance photothermal conversion efficiency and in vitro ablation effect for HeLa cancer cells, but also improve photothermal stability under 808 nm near‐infrared irradiation.
