Special issue on breast imaging: part 1

This special edition of Clinical Radiology is devoted to breast imaging. Breast imaging is constantly evolving with development of new imaging technologies that push the boundaries and challenge radiologists to adopt new ways of working and thinking. There are five review articles in this edition, which cover a broad spectrum of topics, but all are intertwined. The authors were posed with the challenge of describing current practice and the future directions of breast imaging.
