Tanshinone modulates the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in cardiomyocytes and is protective in a rat model of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion.

CONCLUSION: Tanshinone shows protective effect in a dose-dependent manner in a rat model of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion, suggesting its potential therapeutic use.
