CONCLUSIONSPanoramic imaging has low efficacy in the diagnosis of sinus disease, even when examined by experienced dental radiologists. OPG can be useful in excluding disease, but three-dimensional scanning is necessary for the definitive investigation of sinus lesions.

In this study, a new UHPLC-MS method was optimized with outstanding efficiency for a non-targeted metabolic approach and comprehensive analysis of bioactive compounds in blackberry leaves (Rubus cv. Loch Ness). With minimum sample treatment, phenols and triterpene saponins, among others, were separated according to their elution times. Once separated, the major triterpene saponins were classified by their aglycone moieties and their structures tentatively identified based on their accurate mass spectra in positive and negative ESI mode. By the use of UHPLC coupled to a TOF, a high-resolution and accuracy mass analyzer, rel...

CONCLUSIONS: RBD appears to be a safe treatment for posterior BD with excellent perioperative and functional outcomes. The three-dimensional visualization, greater magnification and wristed instrumentation with seven degrees of freedom allow precise dissection of BD and reconstruction of the bladder wall. CONCLUSIONS: In patients undergoing open PN, renorrhaphy with the sliding-clip technique was associated with better intraoperative and postoperative outcomes compared with traditional renorrhaphy. No significant differences were observed in terms of early renal function change. PMID: 30336721 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Authors: Zhou R, Han C, Hao L, Chen B, Zang G, Fan T, Zhou J, Dong Y, Ma W, Pang K Abstract OBJECTIVE: To introduce a new position for ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy for patients with upper ureteral calculi. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Between June 2014 and May 2017, 192 patients were enrolled in this study. Patients were randomly assigned to one of two groups: group A, ureteroscopic lithotripsy (URSL) in the Trendelenburg position; or group B, URSL in the standard position. Baseline information, including gender, age, body mass index (BMI), stone side, stone size and hydronephrosis grade, was collected and...

In this study, a new approach which is based on the combination of both nanogauges displacements monitoring and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) techniques performed under Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) during in-situ tensile tests is proposed. Strain evolutions at the microstructure components and the behavior of the material can be compared to the crystallographic data. The approach was applied to austenitic stainless steel 316 L specimen in order to bring a proof of concept and put into evidence its potential. Among the information of interest which can be obtained through this technique, one can cite th...

GuAbstractThe impact toughness of a modified HR3C austenitic heat-resistant steel (M-HR3C), a promising candidate for the application of next generation power plants beyond 650 °C, has been investigated systemically after long-term thermal exposure at 650 °C. This steel exhibits excellent impact toughness, which is almost 3 times as high as that of a commercial HR3C steel (C-HR3C) after exposure for 10000 h. The microstructure observa...
