CONCLUSIONS: The HBI considers both hypoxia duration and severity during sleep. It may have potential value in predicting the clinical outcomes of OSA based on its correlation with ESS scores and morning blood pressure as well as its independent association with the prevalence of CVDs, whereas the AHI is not significantly associated with CVD prevalence. Authors: Jungels C, Martinez Chanza N, Albisinni S, Mercier M, d'Haene N, Rorive S, Roumeguère T Abstract OBJECTIVES: There are only few predictive factors for response of non-musculo-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) to Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) therapy. Our study analyzed the results of the sequencing of new generation (NGS) targeted on 50 genes of oncological interest obtained on bladder resection parts in high-risk NMIBC patients treated with BCG, to describe this population from a molecular point of view and try to correlate these results in patients who present or not recurrence after BCG. ...

CONCLUSIONS: A large RV leads to significant overestimation of OCG using the double mini-PET, potentially reducing the ability of OCG to identify patients with progressive fibrosis in the peritoneal interstitium. On the other hand, sieving of the dialysate sodium, a biochemical surrogate for OCG, is independent of the RV and may therefore be more reliable. A call for caution is warranted in patients with a large RV to avoid misinterpretation of OCG values derived from the double mini-PET. PMID: 29674410 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSIONS: A high adiponectin level could predict an increase in FM% and a decrease in LBM% during a 3-year follow-up in PD patients. Serum adiponectin could not independently predict mortality in PD patients. PMID: 29674409 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSION: This study has shown that patients who live in more 'educationally' deprived areas are more likely to have multiple episodes of peritonitis requiring hospital admission following PD-catheter insertions. PMID: 29674408 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
