Regarding “Laparoscopic Sterilization Under Local Anesthesia with Conscious Sedation Versus General Anesthesia: a Systematic Review of the Literature

We read with great interest the article of Huppelschoten et  al. [1] in a recent issue of the journal. The authors' evaluated four randomized trials that compared general anesthesia to local anesthesia with conscious sedation for laparoscopic sterilization and concluded that local anesthesia with conscious sedation demonstrated better results when compared to general anesthesia in respect of recovery times, patients' complaints of a sore throat, patients' recovery and satisfaction.
