Retinopathy of prematurity: the high cost of screening regional and remote infants.

CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: Health system costs for ROP screening of remote infants at a centralised hospital are high. Alternative strategies using telemedicine can now be compared with centralized screening.
