A randomized trial of itraconazole versus prednisolone in acute-stage ABPA complicating asthma.
CONCLUSIONS: Prednisolone was more effective in inducing response than itraconazole in acute-stage ABPA. However, itraconazole is also effective in a considerable number; and, with lesser side-effects compared to prednisolone, remains an attractive alternative in the initial treatment of ABPA.
