Is Oklahoma State to good to be true?

I looked at start class info on Oklahoma's DO program; it stated the average gpa was around 3.00 and an MCAT of 27, this seems like a "too good to be true" situation. Afterall, have a below average gpa (for med school) and below average MCAT but still become a doctor? Are the statistics being misrepresented ie lower standards but very small class, out of date stats, is the program just bad (#143 ranking according to start class again).
