Raleigh-based team files brief in ongoing DOJ, Microsoft case

A Raleigh-based team from Poyner Spruill has filed an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court related to an ongoing case between the U.S. Department of Justice and Microsoft over the privacy of electronic communications. The case dates back to 2013 when federal agents – as part of a drug investigation – obtained a warrant and directed Microsoft to turn over all of a customer’s emails.
