Oregon not jumping on the Medicaid work requirement bandwagon
The Trump administration Thursday announced a major policy shift for the Medicaid program by encouraging states to impose work requirements on able-bodied adults on Medicaid.
Ten states so far have requested waivers to run demonstration projects. Oregon isn’t among them and has no plans to submit a waiver any time soon.
“Oregon’s priority is to continue to expand health coverage and reduce the uninsured rate in our state,” Oregon Health Authority spokesman Rob b Cowie said in a statement.…
