[Comment] Offline: Time to act on minimum unit pricing of alcohol
On Jan 22, the UK's House of Commons Health Select Committee, together with the Home Affairs Committee, will hold one of the most important meetings in the recent domestic political history of public health —on minimum unit pricing of alcohol. Chaired by independent-minded Conservative Member of Parliament and former general practitioner, Sarah Wollaston, the committee will review evidence for and against minimum unit pricing at a moment when liver disease is on a trajectory to become the biggest cau se of death in England and Wales.
