Flu spike causing Charlotte-area hospitals to limit visitors
Charlotte-area hospitals have issued new visitor restrictions after a spike in flu cases.
Children ages 12 and under will not be allowed to visit Carolinas HealthCare System and Novant Health hospitals in the Charlotte region as of 7 a.m. Friday.
Visitors of all ages should not visit if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms including a runny nose, sore throat, fever and cough.
Thos e seeking treatment at hospitals are not subject to the restriction.
