Once valued at up to $1.5 billion, S.F. health startup sells for fire sale price of $100 million

Practice Fusion, a San Francisco health records startup that was once expected to go public at a valuation of about $1.5 billion, will be acquired by Chicago-based Allscripts for $100 million in cash, the companies said this week. The companies expect to close the deal in the first quarter of 2018. The acquisition will allow Allscripts to tap into the 30,000 ambulatory physician practices using Practice Fusion as their electronic health records system, the companies said. The move comes months…
