Treatment for overactive bladder and irritable bowel syndrome advanced through pioneering research
(University of Surrey) Researchers at the University of Surrey have discovered how the receptors responsible for contractions in the bladder, regulate the body's clock genes. The new study, published today in The FASEB Journal, has found that this clock activity in turn regulates the cycle of all cells in the body. The team of researchers also discovered that the local biological clock and its control are weakened in aging bladders, demonstrating the importance of the clock in bladder physiology and aging.

CONCLUSIONS: In this cohort of women with vulvar diseases, vitamin D levels and supplementation were not significantly different amongst women with vulvar lichen sclerosus or other non-lichenoid vulvar diseases. Furthermore, vitamin D levels are not serum biomarkers for OAB, urinary incontinence, constipation, or IBS. PMID: 30747611 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

ConclusionsThe overall work productivity impairment as a result of nocturia is substantial and was found to be similar to impairment observed as a result of several other more frequently researched common chronic diseases. Greater awareness of the burden of nocturia, a highly bothersome and prevalent condition, will help policy makers and healthcare decision makers provide appropriate management of nocturia.
The purpose was to evaluate the overlap frequency of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and overactive bladder syndrome (OBS), as well as other gastrointestinal and systemi...

Such a split would dramatically boos...
