Intergenerational gamete donation may be clinically challenging, but it is ethically defensible

The web-based survey of attitudes regarding intergenerational gamete donation conducted by Bortoletto et  al. (1) from Brigham and Women's Hospital supports the premise that the American public is generally supportive of the practice, at least as it relates to women. Although the study design was somewhat flawed, since sampling was conducted exclusively within an income bracket of middle class and abo ve individuals who access the internet and were incentivized to participate, the results clearly demonstrated that the majority of respondents did not object to the concept of sharing eggs between mothers and daughters, or aunts and nieces.
